Things Scott needs to do next:

1) The generated scripts need to use $DIFF, not plan diff. DIFF is defined in $PETSC_ARCH/lib/petsc/conf/petscvariables by the configure system. Reason: DIFF is different on different machines and needs -w where supported since Fortran IO produces different white space on different systems.
2) make allgtest (same as make -f gmakefile test) should not print the link lines for examples except when compile fails, this is how the old make alltest worked. Reason: spewing all that useless output means no one will read the test log files to see if anything failed.
3) Fix the TODO in src/sys/examples/tutorials/ex4.c and ex4f.F or tell Barry how to do it.

1) Update the bin/maint/checkBuilds.py to handle output from new test harness and post it on the html page

3 Verbosity level changed to be more silent by default, but to enable
V=1 to make more verbose
4 Skip changed from 'not ok' to 'ok'
5 localrunfiles feature implemented:
This copies over input file if the description language contains localrunfiles.
6 filter_output implemented:
This has a new diff line that allows filtering of the output before
diffing.
7 Preliminary logging enabled. This uses a simple tee similar to the
build. The logging is done in the tests directory however.
